The third largest Chinese community in America is located right here, in Boston's own Chinatown. Situated between the Financial District and the Theater District, Chinatown draws in both visitors and locals to visit the many shops and restaurants it has to offer. During the late nineteenth century, garment manufacturing plants moved to Chinatown, creating Boston's historic garment district which was active until the 1990's. Tufts Medical Center now dominates part of Chinatown with a full service hospital and multiple schools of medicine. Some of the most delicious Chinese cuisine as well as beautiful artwork is located here.
